Spontaneous trip to the countries capital...
Helsinki, Finland
In the fall I had taken a trip to Helsinki, the city capital of the country, for the first time. Being that I only live 2 hours away from the city, I figured I would be back to visit once again. Originally, I was planning to stay in Helsinki after my trip to Stockholm (which will be in a blog post soon) but there ended up being a minor change of plans, and Lu-Wei had convinced me to tag along with her for a more spontaneous trip to the city.

We left on Saturday morning, December 21st, planning to stay all day and overnight with a friend of Lu-Wei's host mom and then returning back to Turku the following day. The trip was a rather spontaneous thing and decided last minute but we ended up having a ton of fun and I am so glad that I decided to go! Traveling from Turku to Helsinki is rather easy considering all you have to do is hop on a 2 hour train and then you're there. Once we had arrived we met up with a group of friends, mainly other exchange students but also some finns as well. We all walked around the city, saw some sights, tried our best to stay warm and drank lots of coffee. There wasn't much of a plan at all but there really didn't need to be because we all just enjoyed being in each others company <3
