SAUNA
Okay, so I'm sure that you'll be hearing me talk about this quite a lot.. but I figured that I just had to go ahead and post about my very first experience ever. I don't really have any good photo's to share of the building but that's okay, I'm sure I'll take photo's later once I get to my host family and share those. We have a pretty big one here in camp and all of us students had to sign up on a list into 3 groups, separated into boys and girls (no, opposite sex is NOT together!) Of course, knowing what this is and wanting to experience... and get used to this I signed up the first night. At first, all of us girls were really awkward about it and wore our swimsuits. The tradition is you sauna, jump in the lake/shower/snow, whatever! And so after the first round of sauna I went into the lake. Oh man! It sure was freezing! But the feeling is absolutely wonderful. It's so cold, that everything's so refreshing. I now know why the finns love it so much.
The 2nd round all of us girls had the mind set of 'why the hell not' and we just went for it! Naked! And of course, just as all of the natives that live here in Finland were completely right. It's waaaaaaay better without any clothes on. And the great thing about it is you think it'd be so awkward and uncomfortable but it's actually one of the most comfortable things ever. Everything's just so relaxing.
