Camp Sissileiri

Grilling Makara (sausage) over the campire.
A few weekends ago I had the amazing opportunity to join my youth group on a camping trip over the weekend. It was located in a small town (or more like forest) about an hour or so away from my city. Although the entire program was in Finnish and often times I wouldn't understand much, it was still a ton of fun and I am so glad that I got to go! I became closer friends with those whom I had known before, and made lots of new friends. I was able to really focus on my Finnish over the weekend and got to practice words and phrases. Also, I was so blessed to have a few different friends translate a few of the sermons or games that were being taught & explained. And then don't even get me started on how beautiful the whole entire camp was! The nature left me in complete awe and I couldn't help but notice that God was standing by our side the entire time. :)

After one of the sermons in the evening we all gathered by the lake and were just standing around. I wasn't entirely sure what was happening until I noticed fireworks going off! I'm still not sure why they were lit (maybe just for fun?) but thankfully I had my camera so I was able to get some good shots!!
